The Hunter Valley Wine Show is one of the leading regional wine shows in Australia.

One of the first wine shows in Australia was held in the Hunter Valley in 1848 and the Hunter Valley Wine Show has been held continuously since 1974.

The Hunter Valley Wine Show attracts the highest calibre of Australian and International judges and continues to be an innovative, progressive show. The introduction of Riedel glasses and a rigorous auditing system are some of the many facets that ensure the Hunter Valley Wine Show remains the pre-eminent regional Wine Show.

Medals awarded in the Clear Image Hunter Valley Wine Show are highly regarded thoughout the media and wine industry.

Award winning international wine blogger joins judging panel for 2016 Show. The 2015 International Wine & Spirit Competition Blogger, Matt Walls, will join the judging panel for the 2016 CCL Label Clear Image Hunter Valley Wine Show. UK born Walls is a freelance wine writer and consultant. He contributes regular articles to magazines and websites such as Decanter, Foodism, Imbibe and timatkin.com. He won Best Newcomer at the 2013 Fortnum & Mason Food and Drink Awards for Drink Me, his first book on wine, which has to date sold more than 10,000 copies. Matt will travel to Australia to join the panel for the three days judging (15 to 17 August), and will be a guest presenter at the CCL Label Clear Image Celebrations Lunch on Friday 19 August when the results of the Show will be announced.

This year the Hunter Valley showed that whilst it's Semillon and Shiraz varieties are still very much the hero's of the region there is so much potential for unusual varieties to shine.
